The Texas Republican Party Platform states the following in Article 84:
“Homosexuality is a chosen behavior contrary to the fundamental unchanging truths that have been ordained by God in the Bible, recognized by our nation’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans.”
Who knew the majority of Texans are gay? You would never guess it from the fashion sense. Apparently, God-fearing Texan Republicans have their work cut out for them getting a majority of their fellow Texans to choose a different behaviour. Reportedly, some want to start with more early education about the Bible, but GOP leaders fear that going through the schools might backfire. As it is, Texas ranks 43rd in educational achievement, and the pool of teachers Texas schools could draw on is outside the state in known hotbeds of left-wing liberal activism. One delegate to the Party convention wanted to do something about a comma in Article 84, but nobody could figure out what he was talking about.
